COMMUNITY OUTDOOR FITNESS EQUIPMENT
AS MOST PEOPLE WILL HAVE HEARD BY NOW, THE VILLAGE HALL AND PLAYING FIELD COMMITTEE WERE SUCCESSFUL WITH THEIR APPLICATION TO BRECKLAND COUNCIL FOR MATCH FUNDING FOR THE ABOVE PROJECT. WE WERE THRILLED WHEN WE HEARD THE NEWS THAT NORFOLK COMMUNITY FOUNDATION HAD AWARDED FUNDING TO US AND HOPE THIS IS JUST THE START OF ADDING AND IMPROVING SPORTS/RECREATION FACILITIES AT THE PLAYING FIELD.
WE ARE NOW PLEASED TO SAY THE EQUIPMENT HAS BEEN INSTALLED AND IS READY FOR USE ON THE PLAYING FIELD AT THE VILLAGE HALL.
WE HOPE YOU WILL COME ALONG AND ENOY USING THE EQUIPMENT WHENEVER YOU WOULD LIKE TO.
THERE IS ACCESS AT ALL TIMES.
WE ARE PLANNING ON HAVING AN OFFICIAL OPENING OF THE SPORTS EQUIPMENT TO WHICH WE HOPE YOU WILL COME ALONG. INFORMATION WILL BE CIRCULATED AS TO THE DATE AND TIME OF THIS.
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED WITH THEIR SUPPORT OF THIS PROJECT!
LOPHAMS VILLAGE HALL AND PLAYING FIELD COMMITTEE
HOPEFULLY OUR NEXT PROJECT – OUTDOOR PLAY EQUIPMENT!
Following our success with the outside gym we are now hoping to move onto an area of play equipment
for the younger age group. We applied to Tesco Bags of Help Scheme to help with funding
and we are delighted to let you know that our application has been successful and our project will be put
forward to a customer vote in Tesco stores.
What Happens Next!
Our project along with the other two successful projects in our region will go forward to a vote in Tesco stores
during 1st July and 31st August 2017 where their customers will decide the outcome by voting for their favourite
project each time they shop. Tesco will notify us by the end of September 2017 confirming the amount of
funding we will receive. The project with the highest number of votes across our region will receive up to £4,000,
the second placed project up to £2,000 and the third placed project £1,000. So the more votes we get the more
funding we get! The three stores taking part are Tesco at Diss, Saxmundham and Aldeburgh Saxmundham Express.
To vote, you will need to make a purchase within store of any value. You will receive one token per transaction
(ask for a token if you are not given one) and it's not necessary to purchase a carrier bag in order to receive a token.
So please support us if you can! Thank you

Lophams' Village Hall Lottery
July Lottery Winners:
1st Prize, £200 - M Fulcher (378)
2nd Prizes, £50 - R Bassett (201) and Mr & Mrs Kercher (144)
The October 2016 draw marked the close of the 7th year of the Lophams' Village Hall lottery!
During the last seven years, over £25,000 has been distributed in prize money and over £13,500 has been contributed to the Village Hall Development Fund. Sincere thanks from the hall management committee to all those who have participated, your support has allowed us to make important improvements to the building and its surroundings, some of which are listed below. Please remember that our principal purpose is to maintain the fabric of the hall as an attractive venue for the use and benefit of local people and that the proceeds from the Village Hall Lottery are designated entirely for this. If you're not in the lottery but would like to join, please ring 01379 687718, supply your contact details and you will be notified as soon as a vacancy arises.
Why not hire the hall for an event of your own? It's there for you to use! Contact details and hire rates are published on this site.
The Next Draw will be on SATURDAY 26 August 2017 at the Farmers' Market.
To see a list of previous winners, click on 'Lottery News' at the top left of this page and scroll down.
Continued improvements to the Village Hall include more work on the kitchen area; new tiled walls, new electrical equipment, humidifyer, with more cupboard doors being be replaced in the coming months; the car park has been resurfaced; facilities for the less able have been relocated to improve access (thanks to Paul Sturman, builders); the main gates have been moved to encourage more use of the field when the hall is not open; and a dog bin and new litter bin have been put in place. Thank you all for your support which has allowed us to get these things done, however, there is always further work required and your on-going and greatly valued participation is still needed so, if you entered for six months, you may need to renew your entry by 14th August to stay in with a chance and to continue to help the Village Hall. Contact Tim Colyer 01379 687718; Thanks again everyone!
Hiring the Hall
To hire the hall, please telephone Mrs. J. Vere on 01379 687679. To view current hiring rates, click here. Hiring rates have been held since October 1st 2011. In spite of rising costs, especially electricity, it was decided at the last meeting not to increase them for a further 12 months unless conditions change dramatically.
